Faculty Position in Radiochemistry at University of Nevada Las Vegas

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is accepting applications for a tenure-track Full Professor position in Radiochemistry, beginning July 1, 2016. The UNLV Radiochemistry Program (http://radchem.nevada.edu) conducts diverse research in the chemistry of technetium and the actinides in solids, solutions, the environment, and chemical synthesis. Successful applicants will be expected to develop a rigorous, externally funded research program that contributes to the Radiochemistry program research and education mission. Exploiting existing radiochemistry laboratory equipment and facilities is desirable. A successful professor candidate will also provide leadership in the program and with respect to ongoing or emerging research initiatives while contributing to the education and research excellence of the program. The ability to mentor graduate and undergraduate students in a research-intensive environment and in radiochemistry laboratory techniques and methods is essential. The ability to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in chemistry and radiochemistry is also required. Applicants must hold a doctorate in chemistry, radiochemistry, or a closely related field and have demonstrated records of scholarly productivity and effective teaching. Salaries will be commensurate with the labor market, and the position is contingent upon funding.
