Call for Papers – Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry Symposium
The NUCL, FLUO, MEDI, and INOR divisions are once again sponsoring a symposium highlighting the latest developments in Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry. This edition of the symposium will be held at the Spring ACS National Meeting in New Orleans, March 18-22, 2018. A special emphasis of this symposium will be to highlight Alan Davison’s many contributions to the development of metal-based radiopharmaceuticals. The Symposium will feature both invited and contributed talks on topics including:
- The production of radionuclides of radiopharmaceutical interest,
- Radiometal-based radiopharmaceuticals, and
- New and exciting 18F and 11C chemistry.
As with past radiopharmaceutical chemistry symposia, we anticipate that there will be an informal mixer at the conclusion of the symposium. We look forward to your participation.
The deadline for abstract submission is October 16, 2017.
Abstracts should be submitted though the FLUO division, since they are the primary sponsor of this symposium, through the ACS meetings website: http://www.acs.org/content/acs/en/meetings.html
Symposium Co-organizers:
- Alan B. Packard, Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School (alan.packard AT childrens.harvard.edu)
- Neil Vasdev, Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School (vasdev.neil AT mgh.harvard.edu)
- Suzy Lapi, University of Alabama, Birmingham (lapi AT uab.edu)
- Gilles Tamagnan, Molecular Neuroimaging, Inc. (gtamagnan AT invicro.com)
Spring ACS National Meeting
Abstract submissions will close on or around October 31st. Please consider submitting an abstract for one of the division’s symposia.
Advanced Actinide Materials: Nanostructure, Complexity, and Extreme Environments
Organizers:
Dr. Peter C. Burns, University of Notre Dame, pburns AT nd.edu
Dr. Ginger E. Sigmon, University of Notre Dame, gsigmon AT nd.edu
The Division of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology (DNCT) will convene a symposium entitled Advanced Actinide Materials: Nanostructure, Complexity, and Extreme Environments at the 253rd American Chemical Society National Meeting in San Francisco, CA.
The development of advanced actinide materials has grown over the past few years to yield a wide range of novel compounds with fascinating properties, both physical and chemical. This symposium will highlight complex actinide materials and showcase advanced experimental and computational investigations. Appropriate topics include, but are not limited to:
- Characterization of nanoscale actinide materials
- Design of novel actinide nanomaterials
- Spectroscopic or calorimetric investigations of novel materials
- Impact of extreme environments (temperature, pressure, radiation field)
- Atomistic modeling and molecular dynamic simulations of actinide materials.
All interested in the latest advancements in actinide materials are encouraged to attend.
